Great Theory, a couple of thoughts though

Ok, time travel, have we all learnt any lessons form back to the future? hehehe So the Chief and Cortana end up back in time. What would the overall mission of the story line/game be, assuming your theory follows the same game play styles as H1-3. Would it be A) Assist the forerunner in their war against the flood and ultimately set off the Halo Array. I know that according the the terminals Diadect set them off, but someone else theorised that the Chief is Diadect. Why would that be though. The only reason would be to hide the Chiefs true Identity from his future self when reading the terminals on the ark, thus preventing altering time. Surely that could be a freaky thing to learn through the terminals that in the future you some how travel back in time and light the Array, and knowing so could alter your actions and inadvertently prevent you from travelling back through time. B) Knowing what you know about the rings future history and having the knowledge of Cortana's final solution. Would the Chief and Cortana try and prevent future Covenant/Human/Flood war. So here's my thought on these ideas Ok, A) would be interesting in terms of the Chief is almost the forerunners holding pattern for the 100,000 years or however long it is. And because of this, all the actions of that period of time are predetermined. If the chief died before firing the rings then, the Forerunner/Flood war would still be on-going in 2552. But would the chief die after firing the array? and B) so if the mission is to prevent the halo rings form ever firing, wouldn't this alter the future, and possibly the Chief would have never been born. Another thought is Cortana, what part would she play in this? Will she become rampant? and could that have an effect on the mission
