I'm sure they COULD, but it wouldn't help relations between them and MS much. But think about it: what's Microsoft going to do? Drop their most successful studio?
I still can't believe Bungie isn't allowed to say F-U to MS about this. I thought that since they're independent, they can announce whatever they like, no matter what anyone said. I guess I was wrong about that. I'm still supporting Bungie 110% after this, no questions asked. They've told us as much as they can at the moment, and they've taken a VERY WELL-deserved shot at Microsoft. That's all I need. I just tremendously disappointed in Microsoft - I was only considering getting a PS3(For Blu-Ray), but this has solidified those plans. Now its just in spite.
