In Response To: Re: listen & learn... (Geoffrey Miller) : Nope! I manage my parents portfolio and I can say with 100% knowledge that
I'm sure the returns are stellar. BTW, I'd like to see the breakdown of those portfolios so I could dissect some of the companies you do invest in as "rapers the environment" and other such offenders of the Utopian business society you seem to believe in... unless of course if you buy muni-bonds (which in that case, I salute you!) : I'm sorry that you can't see that implant that's sticking out of the side of
Actually, I rather like Microsoft products. I have a dual boot PC with Win98 and Linux Mandrake and I can tell you that Windows is a HELL of a lot easier to use. Now, is that because M$ has put down Linux and competing operating systems? I don't know... but if Linux were so great and easy to use, I'd use it (and so would the millions of others around the world, but they don't because Linux is in its infancy and Macs are propietary to, well, Macs). Oh, and I own a G4 as well so you can take that "implant that's sticking out of the side of your head" remark and stick it in your own orfice of choice. : I suppose industrial companies that rape the
Are you seriously likening the business practices of M$ to destroyers of the environment? That's just too ludicrous to comment on... : The difference is not in taking tons of money,
Well, they make the great majority of operating systems and business app software in the world. Those tools are used to make a lot of really great things in this world that YOU benefit from either directly or indirectly so I don't see how your argument holds water. Oh, and let's not count the countless MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of dollars donated to various charities by Microsoft, Bill Gates and other prominent figures within the company's history (Paul Allen, etc...). Some people (I'm talking about you here) seem to think they just suck all the money in and hoarde it for nefarious purposes and evil intent. This, my friend, is flawed thinking. : Other
Has this happened to you? Was your personal information stolen as a result to M$ products and did that theft cause you bodily/economic/emotional harm? If so, I'm sorry for you... but notice that whenever M$ releases a new product, ARMIES of anti-M$ wingnuts devote their lives to finding holes in the security software. Funny how no one does the same for Linux or in a smaller sense Macs... and WHY is that?.. because (let's face it) the majority of systems out there are M$ based and doing the same thing against Linux/Mac would be pointless. Now, if these same zealots attacked the security systems of Linux and Macs, I'm sure you'd find BIG GAPING EXPLOITABLE HOLES in them too. : Pardon me if I think that M$ is the dark pit of hell. It's an opinion that's
Could you describe briefly exactly what "observance of action" has brought you to such a unilateral conclusion? This I'd like to hear because if it's convincing enough, I might reconsider my stance and change my thinking on the matter. However, without proof of the allegations, I'm afriad I'll have to take your comments with a healthy dose of sodium chloride. And, if you don't accept mediocrity, then why do you come here? We're all obviously flawed in one way or another because we are fans and supporters of Bungie and Bungie games. And since Bungie is now (by extension) affiliated with Microsoft, then Bungie must then be evil too and not worthy of your time. [too bad no one will ever read this since it's buried so far down in the threads] -Loph
