I just read Marty's suggestion to not watch the Gamespot videos... after I finished watching the videos (#1 and #5). I suspect he was right. However, I have to admit that I am glad I did for this reason alone. #5 puts the Cortana voice in a context much more "solid" than even rumor had led me to believe. I now fully understand what is going on with the voice-in-the-head, and I think it is fantastic. Second, I don't even have a problem with the choice of voice anymore. In the less frantic dialogue, she's kinda sexy, (whatever). Anyway, as a Newbie to Bungie, (i.e., not having played the Marathon etc. games), I am very pleased to see first hand that Bungie is truly interested in the story as well as the game. I fully plan on buying the Halo novel (It is already in my Amazon shopping cart).
Can someone tell me, are their going to be spoilers there too? I read somewhere that efforts were made to at least ensure consistency between the novel and game story.
