We won't see anything relating : to the S'pht or their 11 clans. All I think we'll see is how the humans : are under the Marathon logo. Hmmm... I wouldn't give up on that first one just yet. I think that by and large you are right-- the connections are fairly general, almost coincidental in nature-- more a result of an artist making a little inside joke with past material, than a conscious effort to create a sequel. On the other hand... PiD and Marathon were tied pretty closely together, even if only on one point... that point being the Jjaro. And the involvement of the Jjaro might sweep away most, if not all, of the timeline discrepancies noted. Still, I'm sure there's an awful lot about Halo's story we don't know yet, and the best part about playing the game will be finding it out.
