Eeek, I've been framed! ;) Concerning the news post from today (Saturday), I wasn't pointing out any official ties between Halo and Marathon, though in hindsight several could be derived. The original source of the name "Hunter" for that particular alien is unbeknownst to me, but as people who first saw the Halo hunter at E3 will likely confirm, there are significant physical differences between it and the Marathon hunter we know and love. "That big fellow is a known beast, a hunter." <-- known from the E3 demo, not from Marathon. As for immunity to fire, he's not--I may've implied that, but what I meant was that he's almost certainly not taking enough damage to prevent something nasty from happening to the player in very short order.
