: When MC asks who Gravemind is, he replies "I am a monument to all your : sins". And in Halo 3 he says "Child of my enemy". I've been : asking myself constantly what this means and I might have come up with an : answer. If memory serves... In the Legendary disk, cutscene comentaries... Joe Staten said that Jason Jones said that the story of Halo 2 was contained in two lines: "I am a monument to all your sins" and "Only blood will pay for this". Jason never explained what he meant so it sounds like the rest of Bungie had to try to guess what he meant and write the story without knowing what it was really all about. This is good because it keeps things cryptic. This is bad because you can't deduce the meaning by examining the story. :-)
