Here's a stab: We can assume the glob that is fired radiates energy as a blackbody (much like a piece of metal glows when heated). Whether this is true or not depends entirely on the physics of the glob, which is unknown. Just looking at the distribution from Plank's law for blackbody radiation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planck%27s_law_of_black-body_radiation), assuming the 'plasma globs' glow, say, blue. Blue is around 500nm wavelength on the EM spectrum. The curve with a radiative intensity peak at around 500nm is the 5500 K curve, just by looking. So I guess, with this figuring, you could say "a few thousand kelvin" is an order of magnitude estimation.
