I reject out-of-universe justifications like this. The two conclusions I've provided stand. Either the Forerunner didn't have the tech to build the Sentinels in such numbers, or they had it but the Sentinels were ineffective. : Same thing you're saying. I'm asking you to provide proof. You're the one saying "because!" You even used the word "assume" for fuck's sake, which means you don't have evidence, just an assumption that they had to have had the technology.
