No, but it does show that the Forerunner used AI-controlled forces, and nothing is provided regarding the Fleet's force composition. Its entirely possible that the fleet had Sentinels. : How is mentioning that they were involved in combat even more important? You spoke as if having military personnel on the planet was indicative of them employing meaties as opposed to Sentinels. I'm simply pointing out that all military forces on an assaulted world, meaty or non, would be employed in combat, so whether there were military personnel on the world or not is irrelevent to the notion that they were or weren't deploying mechnical forces to support their troops.
