: Not necessarily no. However... : One, the Sentinal Factory at Onyx produced "trillions" of Sentinals : over 100,000 years. That's one factory, continually producing sentinals : for 100,000 years. That means that if the Forerunners really wanted to : they could churn out trillions and trillions of Sentinals for the war. Evidence that the Forerunner factory on Onyx was the standard and not some oversizd complex specifically built to protect Onyx. Remember, Onyx is a fortress world COMPOSED of Sentinels in the first place. : The presence of say 200 billion Sentinals stationed on each planet, ready to : react to an infection wherever it may arise on the surface, would go along : to prevent individual planets falling to a flood attack. Too bad the worlds the Flood tended to overrun either A) weren't Forerunner or B) overrun with billions of heavily-armed combat in massive orbital assaults.
