: This has probably been brought up before but here I go. : My question is this: Why did the Forerunners continue to insist on employing : squishy, sentient flood-bait as soldiers to combat the parasite menace : when they have proved quite capable of employing trillions of : infection-immune, flood-destroying Sentinals? I'm pretty sure the Flood had evolved to a stage beyond what we have witnessed in the game, and by that point, there was no choice but to have everyone fight or die (or be consumed). The Sentinels were probably incapable of dealing with that level of Flood organism, and the only other choice was to build super AIs, which they did.
