That's a good point, and assuming that ships were using slipspace back then, how would the blast affect ships in there? or would it? One of the Novels had folks entering those isolated slipspace capsules for protection.

Perhaps that includes protection from the Halo? Might explain how humans survived, and what the ark actually is, etc.
