Though the : infection formswould require hosts as food to survive, and would then : starve to death at the removal of all food sources, survived only by : infection forms kept in stasis, and the now gimped gravemind. : This has been a long and complicated post, so, Is this scenario obvious and : Iv'e just been missing something? Or Am I just completley ignorant? I dont think you missed anything and you are most definitely not ignorant, I just don't think that we can take Cortana's words 100% literally. If the rings destroy all sentient life, that would mean the flood and Gravemind too, as Gravemind is sentient (although to be fair, one does not need to be self aware to be sentient). Also, the fact that a swat with a magnum can "pop" an infection form, leaves me to highly doubt that a blast from the rings that would kill all people, animals, and other life forms and leave the flood unharmed. And if that is the truth...why cant it be engineered the opposite way...and make it so the rings ONLY kill the flood. Or have I missed something?
