The main point where I have issues is the actual architecture : being different in these ads from the primary source (Bungie). I : understand wanting to have the "flavor" be canon though since : the ads kicked ass. Possible ways of handwaving the issue: * Canon architecture contradicts *itself*. Didn't someone figure out that the Maw Run is too long to actually fit on the Pillar of Autumn's hull? * They recreated the scene as accurately as they could, but there wasn't much information to go on; few survivors still living, few remaining records, and the fact that half the continent was glassed. * The Museum of Humanity exists in the Halo universe, but the diorama we see in the ads and Flash site isn't a completely accurate representation of the real one. * Is there any direct reference to the battle being on Earth (in the Museum ads, not Starry Night)? * The "it was really a different Spartan" explanation mentioned elsewhere. Other possible problems. * The bit about the battle lasting seven days. Could that refer to the Second Battle of Earth in general? Halopedia says it lasted from 2552 November 3 to early 2553, but I'm not sure what the source for that is (haven't finished H3). * The bit that Thomas Chang was a veteran of the Battle for Installation 04. Halopedia puts forth the theory that it was actually Installation 05; a simple error in the profile text.
