'Servus : Ferox' would be more properly translated as 'Savage Servant', or even : 'Very Devoted Servant', if you decide to go the non-literal tour. 'Inferi : Sententia' you can simply translate as 'The Thinking Dead'. Thanks for the reply. I tried to choose one rendering for each name, so sticking pretty close to literal was entailed, unfortunately. On the Brute: I chose the less flattering translation for reasons above -- namely, that the Bestiari compiler didn't seem too enthused about their qualities. Cassell's even divides the definitions of 'Ferox' into two parts: 'in a good sense', and 'in a bad sense'. I figure 'bad sense' jives better with B's tone. But yeah, regardless, there's plenty of wiggle room for interpretation on most of these. 'Augeous': can you tell me about the word? I'd never seen it before, and I haven't a clue how 'Augeo' could be declined to end in '-ous'. Thanks!
