I haven't been catching : up on this sort of thing for a while, but does it imply that there were : other Arks scattered around and that Earth was the only one within : Covenant reach? The Ark is outside the galaxy, I thought. What's on Earth is a portal. The "one final gateway" indicates that many other worlds contain portals (perhaps every indexed world) but I'd wager that they all lead to the same Ark.
