: To CT-One could argue that the books are more canon than the games. Only : thing I even see anyone complaining about story-wise is Contact Harvest, : even though there are reasons and answers for every criticism people try : to come up with against it. I think CH is the only novel anyone could reasonably consider "more canon" if you mean "closer to an ideal version of the story" rather than simply more material. After all, with Dietz and Nylund, you were getting the story filtered through a third party with their own ideas. With Staten's book, you're getting something written first hand by one of the people who came up with the story in the first place. That's bound to be a little different. I haven't read CH yet but I'd likely consider it on a par with the games or perhaps even as more authoritative than the games.. then the games themselves, then the other novels, then anything else (comics, etc).
