Halo 3 Mission Dialogue
Posted By: QuickTactical <quicktactical@hotmail.com>Date: 11/12/07 11:15 p.m.

I suppose you could say I got a little "bored" and felt like doing something useful...although I'm not sure if it would please people more to have this in audio form.

Anyway, these aren't random things said by Marines (such as "Hey! I'm on your team!") in the game; these are conversations, orders, etc., from key players, such as Keyes and the Shipmaster, when you are playing through the game (not cutscenes).

Conversations between two characters do not have spaces between them, and I'm confident this is almost 100% accurate. However, some dialogue, such as from Marines, may not appear in the game because there are no alive Marines to say it, and thus may not be considered essential to the gameplay. However, "important" dialogue can be heard even when Marines, for example, are not nearby. You can tell this by hearing it on the radio, versus face to face. You can experiment with this and find you start hearing mission dialogue on the radio when you are at least 10 meters away from the speaker.

So, without further ado, I give you the (almost complete) Halo 3 mission dialogue (does it change per difficulty? This is on Heroic).

Sierra 117
Johnson: First squad, you’re my scouts. Move out, quiet as you can.

Johnson: Bravo team, this is Johnson. We got him. Fall back to the extraction point, over.
Reynolds: Roger that, Reynolds out.

Marine: Sergeant Major, Phantom inbound.

Marine: They’ve got power armor, Chief.

Marine: Sleepers! Take ‘em out, nice and quiet. Jackals, on the ridge. Stay low, looks like they got Carbines.

Brute: Tell me its location.
Marine Sergeant: Kiss…my…ass.

Marine Sergeant: Brute Chieftain…Phantom. Pinned us down…killed my men.

Arbiter: The river, hurry!

Johnson: Chief, the Pelicans are at the river. We got company, so hustle up!

Female Pilot: Hold on, got a contact.
Female Pilot: Banshees! Fast and low!
Male Pilot: Watch yourself!
Female Pilot: I’m hit! I’m hit! Ahhh!
Male Pilot: Lost our thruster! Hold on!
Johnson: Get a hold of her!
Male Pilot: Negative, we’re going down!

Johnson: Chief, can you hear me? My bird’s down, half a click away from your position.

Johnson: Come on, you dumb apes! You want breakfast? You gotta catch it!

Pelican Radio: Echo five-one this is Crow’s Nest. Echo five-one, please respond! Hocus, Echo five-one is down, divert for emergency evac, over.

Marine: Sergeant Major went this way, Chief, through the cave.

Arbiter: See how they beat their trap? I will help you spring it.

Johnson: This isn’t as fun as it looks. Cut the power! We’re even, long as we’re only counting today.

Johnson: Kilo two-three, what’s your ETA?
Hocus: Eminent, Sergeant. Find some cover, gotta clear a path.
Johnson: Roger that, Hocus. Friendly gunship, coming in hot!

Johnson: Hocus, Phantom!
Hocus: I see them, stand by. Going loud, everyone down!

Hocus: Scratch one Phantom.

Hocus: Scratch two!

Crow’s Nest
Marine: We just lost the perimeter cameras.
Commander Keyes: Motion trackers?
Marine: They’re down, or we’re not receiving. Can’t tell.

Marine: Come on sir, I’ll show you the way!

Marine: This base was built for some 20th century war. It’s full of old tech, like these door controls.

Marine: Get those turrets up. And you watch your fields of fire!

Marine Sergeant: Point of entry, best assessment?
Marine: Hanger, Sergeant.
Marine Sergeant: Agreed. Master Chief, get there.

Marine: We’re with you, Chief. Squads in the hanger are real short-handed.

Commander Keyes: Chief? Good, this channel is secure. My fireteams are spread thin, we can’t hold out forever. I need that hanger cleared for evac ASAP.

Marine: Wipe those bastards off the deck!

Johnson: Chief, ops center, double time! The Brutes are pressing hard.

Marine: Hey, you hear that?
Marine: Yeah, and I don’t like it.

Commander Keyes: Hostiles reported outside the barracks.
Commander Keyes: Barracks are under attack. All available combat teams respond.
Commander Keyes: Anyone in the barracks, I need a SitRep now.

Marine: Sir, this way!

Female Marine: Look, coming out of the vents!
Marine: Light ‘em up, light ‘em up!
Female Marine: What the hell are those things, Sergeant?
Marine Sergeant: Drones, a whole swarm! Take ‘em down, short controlled bursts!

Marine Sergeant: If I try to hook up a timer, it might go off by itself.
Commander Keyes: Johnson.
Johnson: Mmhmm?
Commander Keyes: You might wanna put that out. Chief, have a look. A little going away gift for the Covenant. We’ve linked it to smaller charges throughout the base. Johnson, soon as the evacuation is complete, start the timer.
Johnson: Understood.
Commander Keyes: Good luck everyone, see you on the last Pelican out.
Johnson: Follow me Chief.

Johnson: Brutes have taken the barracks. Marines are trapped inside. Those apes ain’t much for mercy, Chief, and we both know what they do to prisoners. Get to the barracks, save those men! Then escort them to the landing pad for evac.

Arbiter: Spartan, the Brutes have taken your soldiers. It those prisoners are meat for their bellies, I do not know. In case some yet live, let us be careful what we shoot.

Arbiter: We did all we could. Let us move the survivors up to the hanger. There is a lift outside.

Johnson: Commander, we lost the ops center. Brutes attacked in force, couldn’t hold them off. Falling back the hanger, but don’t wait for us.
Hocus: What should I do, ma’am?
Commander Keyes: Hold position, I’m not leaving without him!

Hocus: Ma’am, I’ve got movement, above and below. Brutes. They’ve got jumppacks!
Commander Keyes: They’re going after the thrusters! Shake them off, Lieutenant.

Johnson: Brutes, in the ops center. They disarmed the bomb. Sorry Commander there were too many, even for me.
Commander Keyes: Chief, get back to the ops center. Kill those Brutes, rearm the bomb. I’ve got to get these men out of here. But I’ll radio with another exit, good luck.

Commander Keyes: That did it Chief, bomb’s armed.
Johnson: We’ve got your exit, a service elevator in the hanger. Head downstairs, cut through the caves.

Johnson: There isn’t much time, Chief. Find that elevator.

Tsavo Highway
Commander Keyes: Chief, please respond. What is your status, over. If you can hear me, find transport, head to the town of Voi.

Sergeant: Settle down Marines. Someone hit the emergency power!
Marine: On it, Sergeant.

Sergeant: If you can walk, set your boots on the line.

Sergeant: Chief’s got the right idea. Let’s mount up, get the hell out of these caves.

Marine: I’ll get the door sir.

Sergeant: Second squad, we’re coming through!

Sergeant: Chief, still can’t get the Commander. Comm.’s a mess, Pelicans are scattered. Best thing now is to get some distance between us and the base. Brutes are going to be looking for survivors.

Sergeant: I repeat, our convoy’s been hit, our convoy’s been hit (static). We’re on Tsavo Highway about (static) east of Voi. Someone, anyone, please respond!

Recon 111: Commander, this is ONI Recon 111. The cruiser’s above (static), they found (static).
Commander Keyes: Say again, recon? You’re breaking up.
Recon 111: Something in the crater, ma’am, something beneath the storm.

Commander Keyes: Master Chief? Finally, a good connection. Truth has excavated a Forerunner artifact. We have to assume it’s the Ark.
Johnson: Keep pushing to the town of Voi, Chief. Resupply birds will meet you in the next valley.

Female Marine: Sir, recon spotted Covenant armor ahead. Pelicans are inbound with heavy weapons. We need to hold out until they arrive.

Johnson: Watch it now! Pelicans coming in. Brutes have plenty of armor between here and Voi, Chief. These Warthogs should help you punch on through.

Johnson: Chief, the gate to Voi is dead ahead. Smash the road blockade, open her up.

The Storm
Commander Keyes: Chief, the Prophet of Truth has found the Ark. Our only chance of stopping him is a surprise aerial assault. Clear this sector of Covenant anti-air defenses. Make a hole for the Admiral’s ships. Good hunting. Keyes out.

Marine Sergeant: Ready when you are, Chief. Open the door, take point, we’ll cover you with the .50.

Marine Sergeant: Chief, open the door, we can roll on through!

Marine: That did it, sir, push forward!

Admiral Hood: Kilo two-three, this is Forward Unto Dawn. I need a SitRep, Commander.
Commander Keyes: Atmospheric disturbance is intensifying above the artifact, Admiral.
Admiral Hood: And Sierra 117?
Commander Keyes: Moving as fast as he can, sir, I know he’ll get it done.

Marine: Let’s get going, sir. Admiral’s waiting for us to clear the anti-air.

Female Marine: Hell yeah! Flyboys are going to love us for that!

Johnson: That a way, Chief, target destroyed. Move the next area, over.

Marine: They just keep coming!
Female Marine: Check your fire, it’s the Chief!

Female Marine: Flush them out, sir. We’ll nail them with the .50.

Marine: Hurry, before any more Covenant show up!

Female Marine: We’re down to our last mag, sir. Thought those last ones had us.

Marine: We’ve got a Phantom overhead!

Female Marine: Mount up, rockets in back. We’ve got to move fast, and punch hard.

Johnson: You got anti-air Wraiths in the next lakebed, Chief.

Johnson: Both AA Wraiths have been neutralized. Stand by. Something big closing in on your location.

Marine: Get down! It’s getting closer! Oh, this can’t be happening!
Johnson: Scarab! Find some cover, now!

Commander Keyes: Well done Chief. I’m sending in a few Pelicans.
Johnson: One more target Chief. There’s a Covenant AA gun in the next area. Take it down and Lord Hood can start his attack run.

Female Marine: We’ve got this area locked down sir. Follow us; we’ll get you through.

Radio: All of Truth’s cruisers are falling back to Truth’s ship. Wind inside the storm just hit two hundred kilometers an hour. Energy cascades all over the artifact!

Commander Keyes: Admiral, a single Covenant ship just slipped in system.
Admiral Hood: Just one? What’s its range and position?
Commander Keyes: Above the artifact inside the orbital line. Seems to be holding steady.
Admiral Hood: Attack proceeds as planned, Commander. We’re not going to get another shot at Truth.
Commander Keyes: Sir, yes sir.

The Flood
Commander Keyes: The Flood…it’s spreading all over the city.
Lord Hood: How do we contain it?
Commander Keyes: Find the crashed Flood ship. Overlord its engine core. We either destroy this city, or risk losing the entire planet.
Lord Hood: Do it.
Commander Keyes: Chief, make your way to the crash site.

Marine Sergeant: All squads report.
Marine: Multiple contacts. Unknown hostiles.

Marine: There! Over there! We’re surrounded sergeant!

Marine: Ahhhhhhhh!

Female Marine: Sergeant, come on!

Arbiter: Quickly, let us find their ship! Make short work of this abomination!

Arbiter: Rise up and I will kill you, again and again!

Marine: I didn’t have a choice! The LT, the sergeant, they were all infected! I could see it crawling, sliding around beneath their skin! And then, and then they got up, and they started to talk, oh God, their voices! Oh God, make it stop! I did them a favor, yeah, yeah that’s it, I helped them! (sobbing)

Shipmaster: All humans, take heed! This the carrier Shadow of Intent. Clear this sector while we deal with the Flood!

Arbiter: My brothers, I fear you bring bad news.
Elite: High Charity has fallen; it has become an infected hive.
Arbiter: And the fleet? Has quarantine been broken?
Elite: A single ship broke through our line, and we gave chase.
Arbiter: We had a fleet of hundreds!
Elite: Alas brother, the Flood, it has evolved!

Commander Keyes: Chief, the Elites are looking for something. We didn’t believe them when they told us.
Johnson: It’s Cortana, Chief, she’s on that ship. Find her, get her out!

Elite: Hurry! Our Shipmaster will sacrifice all to stop the Flood.

Arbiter: I shall remain here. I will let nothing past.

The Ark
ODST: That’s some view.
Johnson: Enjoy it while you can, Marines. As soon as we land, we’re right back to it. Priority one: secure a landing zone for the Commander’s frigate. But keep your eyes and ears open. We need all the intel we can get, wherever the hell we are…

Johnson: Stand to, Marines!
ODSTs: Hoorah!
Johnson: Go go go!

ODST: Check it out, in the sky. Is that-?
ODST Sergeant: Hey, focus, we got a job to do.

ODST: Chief, eyes on. Got a good angle. You take the first shot.

ODST Sergeant: We’ve got more enemy contacts ahead. Move out!

ODST: They’re setting up an AA battery. That thing will tear the Dawn apart.

Commander Keyes: Chief, I’m giving the Brutes all I’ve got. But this is a heavyweight fight. The Dawn’s got the tonnage to last only a few rounds. Find me a place to set her down, over.

ODST Sergeant: The Commander’s counting on us to find an LZ.

Longsword Pilot: Boosters are gone, can’t control her!

Marine: Lost our Pelican too, sir. But before we went down we spotted a good LZ. If we can get to our vehicles, we’ll lead you to it.

Crashed Pelican Radio: Scarabs on my six!
Crashed Pelican Radio: Splash one, coming about.
Crashed Pelican Radio (Shipmaster): Hit them again, and again, and again!
Crashed Pelican Radio (Shipmaster): A broadside! What fools they are to face our guns.
Crashed Pelican Radio: Negative, get out of there!
Crashed Pelican Radio: Coming about, fox fox!
Crashed Pelican Radio (Commander Keyes): Negative, assist the Pelicans!
Crashed Pelican Radio: Stay away from those cruisers!
Crashed Pelican Radio (Commander Keyes): Understood, engage those Seraphs.
Crashed Pelican Radio (Commander Keyes): Fire pods one through twelve!

Marine: Mount up, sir. We’ll show you the way, through this canyon.

Crashed Longsword Radio: Point laser fire, break off!

Johnson: Ma’am, almost got our wings shot off. But we spotted a structure on the other side of this wall. It matches Cortana’s description of the map room on the first Halo ring.
Commander Keyes: A cartographer, good. It should help us fix Truth’s location. Secure the LZ, and we’ll push through that wall.
Johnson: Roger that. Follow my Pelican Chief, LZ’s this way.

Johnson: That did it, LZ’s clear. Bring her down.
Commander Keyes: Roger that, beginning my descent.

Commander Keyes: Thanks Chief, wouldn’t have lasted much longer up there. Come to the back of the frigate. Did the Elites get a fix on the Cartographer?
Johnson: Yes ma’am, just on the other side of that wall. But it’s surrounded by Brute heavy armor.
Commander Keyes: Don’t worry I’ve got a plan; if we can’t fly over the wall, we’ll go right through it. Chief, take one of the tanks, lead the way. If you find any locked doors, Spark will be happy to pry them open.
343 Guilty Spark: I will certainly try my best, though I am unfamiliar with this facility.
Johnson: Alright then, you heard the lady.
343 Guilty Spark: Should I help you chose a vehicle, Reclaimer? This one seems in very good condition. Primitive armor, but withstanding.
Johnson: Mount up! Let’s roll.
Marines: Oh yeah!

Marine Sergeant: Hey, how does ninety millimeters of tungsten strike ya?

Marine: Tank beats Ghost.

Marine: Tank beats Hunter.

Marine: Tank beats everything!
Marine: Oh, man, I could do this all day!

Marine Sergeant: All armor, form up on the lower doorway. Chief, get upstairs, have your robot pick that lock.
343 Guilty Spark: I beg your pardon, I am 343 Guilty Spark, monitor of Installation 04.
Marine Sergeant: Yeah, well, you’re also our ticket through this wall. So if you don’t mind…
343 Guilty Spark: I will gladly aid the Reclaimer’s progress.

343 Guilty Spark: Reclaimer, come to the upper doorway. The other ones can take the lower route. Please, do be careful. Odd for a doorway to have such robust security protocols. One moment, Reclaimer. There we are, please follow me.

343 Guilty Spark: Here, this panel will activate a bridge. Allow your companions to cross below.

Commander Keyes: Good work Chief. Link up with our armor on the far side of the wall. Make your way down to the Cartographer.

Johnson: Heads up Marines, we got trouble.

Marine Sergeant: All armor form up! Hit them where it hurts.

Female Marine: Target those Wraiths!

Marine Sergeant: First line clear, move up!

Marine Sergeant: Second line clear, push forward.
Marine: Scarab’s back! This time it means business!
Marine Sergeant: Bravo, flank and cover! I want everyone supporting the Chief, he’ll take it down.

Shipmaster: Not bad, Spartan. I saw that explosion from orbit. Truth’s fleet lies in ruin. Find where the liar hides, so I may place my boot between his guns.
Commander Keyes: We’ll know soon enough, Shipmaster.

Johnson: Infantry on the spire, light them up!

Johnson: Meet the Arbiter at the top of the spire, Chief.

343 Guilty Spark: It seems I’ve crossed a circuit.
Marine: Well, let me have a look. Ah!
Arbiter: Oracle!
Marine: Little bastard stung me!
343 Guilty Spark: I did not want you to come to any harm.
Marine: You got a funny way of showing it.

343 Guilty Spark: Excellent! This way.

Arbiter: Loathsome runts. Kill them in their sleep.

Marine: Chief, tap them out.

343 Guilty Spark: Reclaimer, continue downward.

Johnson: Chief! You’ve got a whole mess of hostile air inbound. Get inside while we take them out.
Arbiter: Follow the Oracle, Spartan. I will help your sergeant clear the skies.
Marine: Sir! Pelican’s going to land one level down.

Johnson: Hang tight Chief, we’re on our way.

Johnson: ETA damn quick, stand by for pick up.

The Covenant
Hocus: Commander, this is Kilo two-three. Lost my wingman and our only ‘Hog, over.
Commander Keyes: Roger that, Hocus, get out of there.

Marine: Hostile anti-air has been neutralized.
Commander Keyes: Hold position, I’m on my way. Shipmaster, begin diversionary bombardment.
Shipmaster: I will beat the Prophet’s shield like a drum. By the time the barrier falls, he will beg for mercy.
Commander Keyes: Truth can activate the rings at any time. If he does, Earth, every being in the galaxy, Halo will kill them all. Get to the first tower, shut it down.

Johnson: Ma’am, we’re on the ground, third tower in sight.
Commander Keyes: Good. The Arbiter and the Elites have touched down at number two.

Marine: Objective in sight, watch for heavy armor.

Commander Keyes: Chief, you’ve got to offline that tower.

Commander Keyes: Get inside that tower, take it down.

Marine Sergeant: Perimeter secure, get inside that tower. Stick together, check your corners!

Commander Keyes: Chief! Find the tower controls and shut it down.

Commander Keyes: Good work Chief, that’s one. The Arbiter should be just about to – that’s two! It’s all up to Johnson’s team now. Get back outside Chief, wait for transport.

Commander Keyes: Johnson, come in, over.
Johnson: Brute reinforcements ma’am, we’re pinned down.
Commander Keyes: I’m on my way!
Johnson: Negative, fire’s too heavy. Everyone fall back! Now!
Commander Keyes: Sergeant Major! Johnson, can you hear me?! Chief, you need to link up with the Arbiter and proceed directly to the third tower. Make your back to the beach.

Hocus: Sir, I got a flight of birds that need an escort. Take a Hornet, get those Pelicans safely to the third tower.

Marine: Objective in sight, Commander. No sign of Johnson or his team.
Commander Keyes: Understood. Chief, clear an LZ, then get inside the tower.

Arbiter: Darken this tower and the barrier will fall. Go Spartan, we have no time to waste!

Commander Keyes: Hit the switch, Chief, and the barrier will fall.

Commander Keyes: Shipmaster, what’s your status?
Shipmaster: Significant damage; weapons systems disabled.
Commander Keyes: Move to a safe distance, stay away from the Flood.
Shipmaster: Why would the Parasite come here?
343 Guilty Spark: The Ark is out of range of all the active installations! Priority: we must contain this outbreak before-
Commander Keyes: No, first we stop Truth, then we deal with the Flood.

343 Guilty Spark: Quickly, I must see the point of impact; assess the damage to the Ark.
Arbiter: To the top of these hills, Oracle, no higher. We cannot risk your capture by the Flood.

Commander Keyes: The Shipmaster’s carrier is out of commission, Chief. I need you to take down Truth. The Flood’s just going to put pressure on him to accelerate his plans. Punch through the cliffs, get inside that Citadel.

Marine: Citadel in sight! The Brutes are mobilizing everything they’ve got!

Marine Sergeant: Hornets inbound!

Marine: I count two Scarabs, repeat, two Scarabs!

Commander Keyes: First Scarab’s down. All units, concentrate your fire on number two.

Commander Keyes: Both Scarabs down, well done.

Arbiter: The Flood scale’s the Citadel’s far wall. Activate this bridge Oracle. The Prophet will die by my hands, not theirs.

343 Guilty Spark: Calamity! If only we had more time!

Johnson: I can barely keep hold of her, Chief! No way I can pick you up! Head back to the lift; find a way down!

The last two levels I have yet to get down...if this interests anyone enough I'll finish this up. Hope this helps!
