You are giving blockbuster trade-ins that can be resold/rented, which gives blockbuster the money it needs to pay MS for that copy of Halo 3 that was sitting on their shelf. So, MS still gets paid for that copy, albeit indirectly. Had you said that you will wait until used copies of Halo 3 surface before you buy, then you would be purchasing a product for which MS would get no compensation.
