I've been hoping for a long time that Bungie would come to the realization that this doesn't work, and would decide to finally go all the way and finally give him a face. The thing is, the notion of "the player is MC" was blown from the beginning; he has a voice. A voice is no different from a face. One is flesh and one is sound, but both are unique and part of a person's individual identity. I don't feel like I'm in the role of MC when I play Halo, because I don't sound like that. He's merely an avatar, and he always has been. I step into his shoes when I play the game, but I'm not him. He has his own identity, his own personality, his own voice, his own body. He should have his own face. He deserves his own face. Some might think it would destroy his mystique. Well, they would have a point. But I think having two games with the mystique intact, and then finally doing a dramatic reveal at the end of the third act of the third game... that would be some @#$% pay off there. Here's hoping...
