: Ok if you have read the books thoroughly you would know that all spartans : that were killed were labeled as MIA so that the people of Earth would : think there is still a hope that a whole bunch of spartans are still out : there. In Fall of Reach, they talk about Spartans too distant to be easily recalled for Dr. Halsey's mission, and then they mention them again in Ghosts of Onyx. There are other Spartan-IIs out there, and we may well be seeing them in Halo 3.
