: Perhaps the most unusual thing of all is the human/reclaimer ability to : instinctively understand forerunner technology and script. Perhaps : humanity was being eradicated by the Prophets because of the danger they : posed, being Reclaimers? And since no race would want to die out, and : since the Forerunner faded away in Staten's own words, is it possible that : the Forerunner hid a part of themselves inside human beings, and that : genetically pure reclaimers are resurfacing now? I think that humans : somehow got a special favor from the Forerunner, and the Prophets hate : that. The Prophets probably realized early on that the humans were either the "Forerunner" or descended from them, and thus were a massive threat to their power and status in their own religion, which is why humanity was never given the option of joining the Covenant.
