My guess is that it's Bungie playing at the idea of "UNSC records being accessed via the Bungie website", and nothing more. I did notice, too, that some frames have a lighter background than others; I imagine this has to do with color correction issues in putting the movie together, but then again, Bungie likes to hide tidbits here and there… Here's a composite image of frames from the QT that I put together and posted on that other thread:
