Well, your vision in Halo:CE had a bit of a fish eye quality to it, which distorted the size of a lot of object. And you were 7 and a half feet tall.

I can imagine that decades ago a covenant army would have had slightly different armor than they do in the present day of the Halo universe. A galaxy spanning empire could have a dozen different variations of the same armor, vehicles and weapons that are issued old and new or specialized for different jobs. That's why you have banshee's with headlights and the bulky Elite armor.

There's no explaining those battle rifles or Spartan armor, ensembles on their own with that one.
