In Response To: 500 years isn't enough time (Schedonnardus)

I could definatly see the caps melting enough to rise ten or twenty feet, though, which would be enough to flood plenty of areas. As for receding, in 500 years, we could easily development an artificial method to reduce the earth's temperature, from orbital sun shades to running fusion reactors (which the starships have) to run cooling systems in the ice, to re-freeze at an accelerated rate (though yu'd have to dump the heat into space, not back into the atmosphere to do anything that way).

And, of course, we're talking about whether Bungie decided to imply global changes in sea level, not whether it will actually happen. So whether you think it would happen in the next 500 years or not isn't the question. The question is, did Bungie?

Of course, that makes my arguement beside the point too :)
