In Response To: Re: My Thoughts on the Halo Series (Endbringer) : For one thing if your opponent is basicly spawn killing, you won't be able to
In Halo 1 there was always a way out of being spawnkilled unlike some situations in Halo 2. You have probably not played Halo 1 much. The point of my statement BTW was to say that other weapons in the game are used just as much if not more than the pistol, and state that a game with the H1 pistol should never turn into "pistol online". However I will address the issue of how "overpowered" the pistol is. The pistol cannot touch someone base to base on Blood Gulch, while the sniper can. A sniper should operate ingame much like real life where a sniper will use cover and stealth to harry his opponents unseen. A sniper that is spotted should go down quickly, not stand in the middle of the battlefield laughing at the futility of all those who attempt to approach him. However I do agree that the weapon was overpowered, however SO WERE ALL H1 WEAPONS. One of the things I loved about Halo 1 is the fact that every single weapon was godlike-sans needler which was average and sans rocket that was uber-godlike. I felt powerful holding any H1 weapon. When I hold any of the non-power H2 weapons my logical option is to melee instead of firing. This should never happen in a First Person _Shooter_! What has been beaten to death is not the subject, but in fact the closed door of your mind, and others like you. I can clearly see that you did not even get a paragraph into what was written in the OP's link as all that he said is clearly "beating a dead horse! H2>H1 lolz!" Close range Shotgun/Sword(if it had been in H1)/Plasma Rifle/Assault Rifle > pistol
I believe all weapons but the Needler are accounter for, and the needler just plain sucks. |
