One second he has two swords, the next a : sword and shield, hence it would be plasma rather than glass. : On some of the panels, especially on page 52, you can also see the basic : shape of the sword in the centre of the shield. : So the general conclusion I've come to is that despite such a feature not : being in the games, the Covenant energy sword may be dual purpose. I was going to say that I didn't agree but looking at pg 52 and 53 you see that the shield changes hands to that explanation is the best.
