Theory : The "Arc" is planet Earth

I~ve read some places that people thing The Arc is that ship that MC hitches a ride at the end. But I dont think thats the case. From what understood of the final cutscene in halo 2, it seems that The ARc is our planet earth. I dont know, from a physical point of view, right when the voice says "The Arc", the camera shows the ship going towards earth. Earth is the main focus on the screen, so to me it made sense. Also, from a storyline point of view, it seems more interesting for earth to be called The Arc. It only adds to the mystery, as though Earth is where it all started.
