All you do is take a burnt out hilt into the next level with you and it is infinitly charged. I love to bring the sword with me into Regret after playing through Delta Halo. I feel like Anakin Skywalker slaughtering younglings in the Jedi Temple. well... in this case grunts. but the high pitched screaming is pretty realistic. don't you love getting th blind skull and a sword and seeing the cracklies but no sword. I love that!
