| Anyone remember The Dark Crystal movie? | |

In Response To: Prophets+Humans=Forerunner (Really LONG) (DD) Great theory! It sort of reminds me of that movie The Dark Crystal, where there are two species that seem to represent good and evil, and in the end when the eponymous crystal is repaired, the two races (re-)combine into the original race, thus restoring harmony to the world (or something like that). The prophet's problem is of course that humans could unknowingly set off the Halos - see Halo: Combat Evolved for one close shave :) Thus, wiping out humanity means that the Prophets would be safe. Of course, keep a few humans alive just in case a Reclaimer is needed. So, if this theory is right, why does 343 Guilty Spark think we should know what we're doing? This seems to imply that we should have got our memories back - so to speak. Here's my conspiracy theory - ONI found the Ark, and within it our Forerunner "memories". When they did, they realised that here was a way to win the war - sit in the Ark, release the Flood on the original Halo, and sit back and wait for protocols to be followed and the galaxy to be wiped clean. This could be problematic, since at the end of Halo 2, anyone in the Ark - any human perhaps - could wipe the galaxy clean of sentient life. Any bets that Colonel Ackerson is there, ready to press the button? Ciarán.
