In Response To: Re: Prophets+Humans=Forerunner (Really LONG) (Sep7imus [subnova]) I actually wondered about this - there was an episode of Star Trek TNG where, if memory serves, the Klingons, Humans, and Cardassians were all chasing a DNA sample that lead to a long dead race. Turns out the race was the origin of all three races, each being a different evolution of their original DNA which had been seeded in different parts of the galaxy. Human/Covenant/Flood could all be fractions of Forerunner. Or, of course, they could just be things to shoot inna videogame... Live long and prosper.
