Howdy folks. I'm doing some research for a thesis of sorts and was really curious about getting some feedback from the HBO community.

Here's what I'd like to know - At what point would a potentially crappy Halo movie or some absurd level of licensed products actually negatively impact your perception of Halo the game, Halo the franchise and even Bungie as the game's developer.

Think about it... The movie may end up being total crap to hardcore fans. Bungie has some oversight, sure, but at the end of the day I'm betting MS is going to call the final shots and look to make as much money as possible.

The same goes for merchandise. You better believe Halo could go the way of Star Wars and we'll see everything from Master Chief cereal to bed sheets to infant toys and the whole gamut of playsets and toys and costumes.

When is there too much of a good thing? At what point would you, the hardcore Halo fan, become disillusioned and pissed enough to seriously affect your perception of Halo. What about your perception of Bungie?

I'd really love to get some insight into this!
