The Covenant worship the : Forerunners, but who do the Forerunners worship? Interesting. The Forerunner's seemed to have revered nature. That is why their ability to mimic it seems to have been developed so well. Life is a part of nature so they must have also worshipped that. That is the reason why the unification of the index with the core is so 'holy' is that the Forerunner knew what they were doing. They realised that they would be commiting mass suicide. If you were to do that wouldn't you perform your last actions to some form of ritual? Wouldn't you wish for your place of death to be your last and greatest work?
