Like something that would be great a ways into the series, but VERY, erm, I don't know the word....I suppose random for a first comic. I don't know, perhaps you going for, like, the Halo novels where the first pages are of events that really happen later on during the story (but they seem to be very action oriented, getting the reader psyched for the rest of the story) Just diddn't seem to HOOK me though. For it to hook it should be one whole piece, with some sort of resolution. It seems to leave me hanging, doesn't give me substance, and if not for reminders on the HBO front page, I'd honestly just forget about it. It's the first comic...it should be a nice package that shows HOW the comic will work. Because, from here, anything could happen, and I don't know if it's something I'll want to invest time into. I mean, next comic could show her getting suited up like MC and whipping bully ass. (which I would think was cool, and if done right I'd keep coming back) Or she could go home and write a blog about how men are so dumb and girl gamers are teh 1337, and that wouldnt really interest me as much. With this cliffhanger it doesn't really establish direction of the story. The art style is really very good though, though I've never really been a fan of furry, it's tolerable and I think it's fine here. And it looks nice. I want to see this get really good. | |
