In fact, Louis took his nick for HBO long before anyone had any real idea what Halo would be about. All that was really known was that the story involved a ring-shaped world, not unlike the Ringworld featured in the novel of the same name by Larry Niven. Louis Wu is the narrator/protagonist of that novel, hence the nickname. As it turned out, Halo's story wound up having more in common with the Culture novels by Ian Banks, if memory serves correctly, as well as Christopher Rowley's Starhammer books. But, all that's in the past, and Louis Wu remains Louis Wu. -Nate | |
