In Response To: Re: nice! (Hikaru-119)

don't get me wrong there are a lot of other videos here that show near perfection with the technical aspects of movie editing, etc... That is what exactly why i like your movie so much, because even though it wasn't polished, (c'mon man red text?!) it still was really good because of the subject matter you were trying to address.

This is the first video i have seen here, that i can remember, that really connects to me on a personal level. I think that is what has drawn me into Halo so much, not all the fancy technology, not the cliche of humanity fighting another more advanced alien race (or races in this case), not the amazing visuals that the game provides, it is the warriors plight that has kept me with Halo all these years.

The Spartans II's who were abducted at birth and had horrific genetic and surgical expirements preformed on then without their consent have never once resented the things that were done to them, they have accepted and embraced all the hardship they had to endure because they see the bigger picture and they are willing to put the bigger picture (humanity's survival) ahead of their own needs. This is all greatly expanded upon in the books, but i see it mostly see it in first strike. i could go on for days about archetypes and such but i think you get the idea.

i don't want to give you the impression that i'm being fanatical about your movie, maybe the fact that i wrote this much directly contradicts my previous statement. Anyway i just wanted you know how much i appreciated the subject matter of your movie and its greater implications, references to our society today, i don't care about technical stuff, (given enough time and the proper equipment + software anyone can do that stuff). Alright i'm done i'm not writing anymore about this.
