The flashpoint is quite low, -188C, but that would be in 100% concentration. We, as humans, need oxygen to breathe, but in a 100% oxygen rich environment, we suffocate. I would assume Grunts are similar. This would dramatically raise the flash point. While plasma weapons do produce heat, we don't know exactly how much heat. I'm assuming the weapons are metal cased, and they never get hot enough to handle, for any body, even the Marines with regular human skin, no special armor or even thick alien skin. Of course, this whole disscussion may be to technical to actaully program into a game...can't imagine the lines of coded needed and extra animations to have a Marine throw down an overheating Plasma Pistol or something, lol.
