Damn good ideas, and I agree virtually completely; I think it's a combination of wishful thinking and fond memories that make people jump to Durandal conclusions. A few comments:

The "pleasant dreams" and "how I spent your summer vacation," comments probably refer to the communications blackout between Enkidu and the Lebanon as the ship was on the far side of whatever sun is was "slingshotting" around.

I don't think we should jump to too many "Flood" conclusions just yet. If Enkidu were indeed in contact with the Flood, I'm pretty certain he would have said something to whomever is aboard the Lebanon, rampant or no.
