Hello everyone, I have been rereading Halo: FIrst Strike recently and noticed something interesting related to the supposed "SPARTAN-III" project and Colonel Ackerson. Some speculate that Ackerson is running a SPARTAN-III program, others believe he is not. I believe that Ackerson is running a successor to the SPARTAN-II program, though if it involves anything other than "honest-to-God humans," I will not speculate. Read page 103 of First Strike. Near the bottom of the page Colonel Ackerson is putting down the SPARTANS and in his initial statement, he says, "With all due respect to my predecessor Doctor Halsey..." Tbe key word here is predecessor! If Dr. Halsey is his predecessor, he is most definitely heading a follow-up to the SPARTAN-II program (at least that's how I see it in my mind).
