In Response To: Quetion about covenant and 343 gs (Brandon) : what we have learned about the covenant is that all there technology is based : on the Forerunner, 343 gs and the sentianals : are part of Halo and it is mentioned that they are part of the Forerunners : technology, so if they are forerunner why were the covenant : trying to destroy them? i can't figure it out wouldn't the covenant like : serrender to them or join together As far as I can speculate, the Covenant are like tomb raiders, stealing the Forerunner artifacts/technology/tresures left behind. In the role of tomb raiders, the Flood and the Sentinels are basically hazards that must be overcome for the worthy among the Covenant to get to the treasures within. In other words, 343 GS is the house guard dog and if you want that treasure locked inside the house, you have to get by the dog first. Also, Cortana might have referred to 343 GS as a guard dog in one of her letters, but that is another story. : P.S heres somthing to think about-the covenant's technology is based on the : Forerunner, that means they would have had to visit : other ring worlds like Halo, Bungie also mentioned that the flood had a : history with the covenant Any significantly advanced and far reaching civilization could have left all sorts of relics and buildings around for later civilizations to find. Forerunner buildings could have existed on planets, moons, space stations, and many other places. Although some of these places are Halos, it doesn't mean that the Covenant have necessarily been to a Halo. However, I would agree that the Covenant has seen other Halos (at least in pictures) because of an interview with a Bungie employee (yes I'm too lazy to search and find which interview) where the employee says basically that some theorize that the Covenant believed they had found the "Alpha" Halo. To be searching for the Alpha Halo implies that they had seen other, lesser Halos. Keep up the speculation. Nice topic.
