In Response To: cortana (vshields ash) Master Chief was familiar with the symbols because they were probably the same on that rock thing in Fall of Reach. Don't know how he knew which button though. I think that Guilty Spark is just crazy and he really doesn't have his wits about him. The Covenant attacked Reach and that is almost where Earth is. Earth is really right next to Reach and they could have gotten the info from another human. Alot of them seem very glad to cooperate. Cortana was probably overwhelmed by the information and the appearance of the Flood. She was incredibly frightened by the Flood discovery and in the face of all sentient life being wiped out of the entire universe, she kind of got ticked. Not exactly hard to imagine.
