Cortana sighed and her shoulders slumped. : "Unfortunately, all my attempts at translating the code have : failed...so far." Pulse Laser on Halo for communication, not destruction? This Pulse Laser Transmission was already mentioned on the Halo Story Page to be from Halo. This seems very likely, but I'm not convinced that a pulse laser is actually the main "weapon" of halo. Pulse Laser Transmissions can also be used for communication (very similar to light signals used on navy ships). There are many research groups that think that pulse lasers would be a more effective way for interplanetary communication. Maybe this pulse laser transmission that Cortana cannot decode was a signal sent from halo to one of the other installations to follow suit in its activation. Some mistake was made so that the pulse laser accidentally hit the black hole and the signal became trapped on the event horizon. What we really nead here are some astrophysicists :P
