Everyone knows that we rock, so there's no point in boring everyone with you brags. By the way, did you know that your default Windows settings are not optimized for the transmission characteristics of cable modems (high latency relative to bandwidth?). If you're running a windows machine, you can increase your rate of transfer for most big jobs. I used to max out at around 150 kilobytes/sec, but I was able to raise my max to 350 kilobytes/sec with the registry patches listed at: http://www.speedguide.net/Cable_modems/cable_patches.shtml Some people claim they get speeds of 1 megabyte/sec but that seems a little far-fetched to me. -BbT | |
