In Response To: My official letter to Chaos... feedback? (Mr. Matrix)
Hi Spencer,
The problem with previews is that they'll always be floating on
speculation, as it is impossible to tell if a game will eventually turn out
as cool or as bad as the writer thinks it will be.
Bungie is rather tightlipped about Halo, and I tried to pry off some info
from them but they either never received my email or they simply chose to
not enlighten me. Either way it wasn't of much help at all.
Based on the sources I used I mentioned that the name of the
reptile-resembling enemy race originated from the Marathon series. If
that's not correct, I regret having reported it falsely as well, but it
really is of no consequence to either the Marathon series or Halo. I have
played Durandal but never paid much attention to the storyline as I simply
was too busy shooting enemies and finding my way through the maps.
There's no way of being sure of all the info until Halo is actually lying
on the shelves in the stores. Even if I would have had my info validated by
Bungie, the team still could decide to make some adjustments to the story
or whatever part of the game and I still wouldn't have told the right
information.
I'm sorry if what I've mentioned grieves you, as it was never my intention
to do so, but I see no point in making that statement.
Kind regards,
Derk Bil
