Obviously, the 19th (Saturday) is when E3 is closing up, and people will begin the exodus home. So the 17th or 18th would be our window... the 18th being the most popular date.

Apparently there are some other, not well-described considerations involved in the matter... so it really comes down to whether we (or Bungie, actually) want the most Bungiefen in attendance, or place some other need in a position of higher priority.

I'm really hoping we can do things on a night when many of us who are already planning to attend can be there. This would be the first fanfest that I've been able to be at in my years of Bungie fandom. The same goes for a number of others.
