I've been playing the OG 1.03 version for the first time since the 2010s on my steam deck recently and doing every plank. Currently I've made it to the second time through Dread Not. I never realised how different the dream level skyboxes were compared to 1.1 but they actually convey their whole surreal feeling of the ocean & sky bleeding together even better than 1.1. The only problem is unlike the latter, the "Kingdom Valley" landscape below is unfinished so it stops halfway along & the rest of the skybox bottom is a black void.
You also have to turn off bloom when playing 1.03 or else the dream skyboxes are mostly obscured by bright white light. I can't remember if 1.1 has the same bug.
