Hey, I read the whole chapter and what you have here is decent. It's interesting you chose to explore and develop the societal system the bobs have on the marathon.
It's creepy Owen came from a creche, and I'm sure using Admiral Tfear's choice of words wasn't an accident. It makes it sound like they're being spawned in a room of test tubes, but I guess it means a baby nursery before the parents take them home to... uhh... their quarters on board, I guess.
And I think you accidentally discovered a new personality test:
: (D)iscipline – 62
: (R)eciprocity – 65
: (E)mpathy – 47
: (A)ccomplishment – 42
: (M)erit – 49
: (S)ociability – 33
I'm guessing these go from 1-70? Accomplishment and Merit are curious ones. They're measuring things that they've done? I might have used vague "aptitute," but I think this and all the other words are suggesting that leela spied on everyone and is judging them by how they've actually behaved, a neat twist when we were led to think he was going to take a boring paper and pencil test. (I'm tempted to try to make one of those boring paper and pencil tests for this).
Another curious pair are Empathy and Sociability being different values. Because we know the smooth talking cool kids can be total sociopaths, and the quiet loners could just be anxious.
What is so bad about Morale department? I'd think they'd be in charge of curating all the fun stuff so they'd be the popular guys in the crew, but he'd rather be doing something like gardening? Interesting.
