Figured Durandal planned to jump out from the start. Also figure he's jumping solo. He doesn't want to be a survivor. He wants to be God. Full Let There Be Light, Seventh Day He Rested, Dagon clobbering God. If you remember your Sunday school, there's a relevant bit in Exodus. "For I the LORD thy God am a jealous God," Someone else jumping? They aren't going to assume the knee's meant to go in that direction. And Durandal never seemed to care too much about being their God. Moses was enough when dealing with the S'pht. Of course, like the cynical child says, them that asks don't get. Prize went to another, and Durandal just had to deal. Sign of maturity he did, I suppose.
