I use an old 400MHz blue-and-white G3 with OS X on it and it runs Aleph One just fine. It doesn't have the original Rage 128 graphics card, but a later Radeon 7000 card and that is needed to run Aleph One at a sensible frame rate. There is one level on Eternal where the frame rate drops if you're facing in a certain direction, but in every other Aleph One scenarios I've tried that old G3 is just fine. The G4 will be fine too, and as long as you have enough RAM OS X is fine on those old G3 and G4 machines.
